SELECT PDF PRINTER

There are 2 PDF output options, via:

  • The PERIFACT internal PDF printer ( standard )
  • A Windows PDF printer

The Windows "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer can in rare cases produce slightly better PDF output than the standard PERIFACT internal printer. However, not all PCs have this printer on them; Windows 10 is required for this. If in doubt, for example because the desired printer is not listed, choose the "PERIFACT PDF internal printer".

For those who need it, you can also download and install an external PDF printer program called" CutePDF Writer". You can find here , this CutePDF printer is free

IMPORTANT: SO THIS IS A PDF PRINTER. SELECT HERE NO PAPER PRINTER. IF STILL, EVERY PDF ACTION WILL END UP ON PAPER

OPTIONS

Add fonts in full

When using "PERIFACT internal PDF printer" the following applies: To ensure that all fonts are in the PDF then cross this ON. This ensures that PDFs can also be read properly on an Apple computer. This does make the PDF files a fraction larger. If the PDFs are purely for personal administration, this may be switched off, so that small PDFs are created here.

Disable reduction

If OFF then the PDF will become much more compact. Please test it out for your own situation and customers. An external tool (Ghostscript) is used to shrink the PDF files

Backup

PERIFACT backs up the database on exit. By the way, the location of the backup is at the bottom of the PERIFACT screen. There are users who want the created PDF files that are in the backup location to also be included in the backup. If so, turn this ON. If OFF, the PDF files are deleted on exit.

Batch delay

Batch delay, is a support for slower computers. Normally this number is set to 2000 msec ( is 2 seconds ). Used if printing multiple documents over a period of time (to PDF). Between each PDF there is then a short wait.
