Tips for a successful import

Follow these steps to import your customer and product data from Excel to PERIFACT:

  1. Go to the PERIFACT main menu: Open PERIFACT and select "Extras" > "Import.
  2. Choose "Excel. In the import menu, select the "Excel" option.
  3. Select your Excel file: Browse to and select the Excel file you want to import.
  4. Link columns: PERIFACT displays the columns from your Excel file. Link these columns with the appropriate PERIFACT fields. See later in this page!
  5. Check and import: Verify that all columns are correctly linked. Then start the import process.

Tips for a successful import:

  • Use the correct column names: In the first row of your Excel file, the column names should be exactly match the names used by PERIFACT. See further down this page for the correct structure
  • Consistent nomenclature: Make sure all columns in your Excel file use the same naming convention.
  • Correct data types: Check that the data types of the columns in your Excel file match the data types that PERIFACT expects.
  • Position of a column: The position of a column is not important. So if you first offer, for example, FULL NAME, PHONE_THOME,.... or PHONE_THOME, FULL NAME,.... that doesn't matter.

Errors during import:

  • Column names in red: If column names are shown in red, they are not recognized or are not valid in PERIFACT. Adjust the column names in your Excel file according to the import Excel template.
  • Data cannot be imported: Check that the data types of the columns in your Excel file match the data types that PERIFACT expects. Also make sure there are no special characters in the column names or data.

With these tips, import your customer and product data quickly and easily from Excel into PERIFACT!

Tip

Practice first with a small Excel file, with a small portion of the desired data. If it works well, then do the same action again with the full file.

CONTACTS structure

CONTACTS can be imported via the main menu function: EXTRA'S - IMPORT AND EXPORT

Below you can see how the structure is structured for all clients. As mentioned before pay close attention to the column name as this must match exactly otherwise the column in question will not be included during import. For example if it says "DeliveryAddress" then "Delivery Address" with a space is NOT valid. Not all fields are required.

COLUMNS PRODUCTS

PRODUCTS can be imported via the menu function: EXTRA - IMPORT AND EXPORT
