Search server on the network
If you want to work on the same data with multiple PERIFACT users, that is of course possible.
There is always 1 computer 'in charge' of the data, so this main computer must also be on if you want to work on computer 2, computer 3,.... etc. On this main computer is the database where everything is stored.
How do you connect to the main computer?
- Now on COMPUTER 2 ( or COMPUTER 3,4...) go to menu SETTINGS - MULTI USER SETTINGS (NETWORK)
- Go to 'Find server on network' tab
- Press the [Scan the network] button, this may take a while!
If all goes well, but not all Windows versions work optimally with this, you will see the MAIN COMPUTER listed. Click on the name of theHOOFDCOMPUTER and press the [Connect to selected server] button. In principle, you are now ready. However, PERIFACT must be restarted.
My computer is not listed what now?
Is the MAIN COMPUTER not listed? Then we have to start entering the so-called IP address of the MAIN COMPUTER manually. How do you know that IP address? That is on the MAIN COMPUTER in the same screen at the bottom ( see below the image with arrow ). Write down this IP address, go to COMPUTER 2 again and press the button [Enter IP address manually]. In principle, you are now ready. However, PERIFACT must be restarted.
Still not working? Then check the Windows Firewall setting and see if PORT 3306 is open on both PCs.
So where is my backup?
Every(!) PERIFACT PC will also make a backup of the database (which contains, among other things, all your invoices) on closing the program. The place where you can find this backup data is at the bottom of the PERIFACT main screen.
License Code
You may have to re-enter the license code but that is not a problem.
